What Are 1/6 BJD Doll Clothes?
1/6 BJD doll clothes are miniature, often handmade garments made for one-sixth-scale ball-jointed dolls — posable resin dolls that stand roughly 27–30 cm tall. If you are new to the hobby, this guide explains what that means and how to choose outfits that fit.
What is a BJD?
A ball-jointed doll (BJD) is an articulated collector doll, usually cast in resin and strung with internal elastic so it can be posed at its ball joints. BJDs are highly customisable — collectors change wigs, eyes and, of course, clothing to give each doll a personality.
What does ‘1/6 scale’ mean?
‘1/6’ (one-sixth) scale means the doll is about one-sixth the height of an adult, which works out to roughly 27–30 cm. In the BJD world this small size class is commonly called YoSD. Other common scales are 1/4 (MSD, ~43 cm) and 1/3 (SD, ~60 cm).
How BJD clothing sizing works
BJD outfits are sized by the doll’s scale, not by a child’s age or a standard dress size. A 1/6 outfit is cut for a 1/6 body. Because resin bodies differ slightly between makers, two ‘1/6’ dolls can still vary by a few millimetres — so measurements matter more than the label.

How to measure your doll for the best fit
Before ordering, measure your doll’s height, chest/bust, waist, hip and shoulder width with a soft tape, and compare them to the listing’s fit notes. Hollow Lullaby outfits are tailored for ~27–30 cm 1/6 bodies (YoSD and similar).
Caring for handmade doll clothes
Hand-wash gently in cool water and lay flat to dry. Note that deeply dyed fabrics (blacks, indigos) can transfer colour onto pale resin over time — a common BJD concern called staining — so avoid leaving dark outfits on a light doll for long unattended periods, especially in heat.
